Asda recalls shredders after electric shocks

Asda, British supermarket giant, has received plenty of customer complaints after customers received electric shocks from paper shredders. Asda subsequently has had to recall thousands of their shredders.

After testing the shredders, Asda has concluded that a fault in the plugs of the eight sheet diamond cut shredders was causing the small electric shocks, and have asked any customers who’ve bought them, to return them. Selling at £19.97, the thousands of shredders were sold over a six month period.

A spokeswoman for Asda, Vickie North, said: "A handful of customers experienced a small shock but there have been no injuries. This is not potentially fatal and is not causing injuries, it is more of a precaution."

Asda are advising customers to stop using the faulty shredders immediately, and to return them to any Asda store to receive a full refund.
